Jose Mourinho Eyes Up For Transfer Targets For January Window

Jose Mourinho Eyes Up For Transfer Targets For January Window

The Manchester United boss wants to turn around the club's fortunes by spending the money he didn't spend in the summer in January.

Jose Mourinho might be under pressure when it comes to keeping his job at Manchester United but the boss has his eyes set on four transfer targets for January's window, if he can get the board to loosen the purse strings.

The international break came at a great time for Jose Mourinho. After a couple of weeks that must have been some of the hardest in his career he went into the break with a big win and the chance for things to quieten down.

Heading into Manchester United's final game before the break there were rumours that the former Chelsea boss would be sacked no matter his side's result against Newcastle. At 2-0 down in the 10th minute Mourinho would have been wondering if he could quit at half time.

Instead the Red Devils rallied and won the game 3-2 late on thanks to Alexis Sanchez' winner following goals from Juan Mata and Anthony Martial.

The comeback took the pressure off Mourinho for a couple of weeks as the board would have found it difficult to sack him following that result.

For now though the dramatic win just seems like papering over the cracks and United could have the same issues when domestic football begins again next week.

Mourinho is looking ahead though and has four January transfer targets in mind. According to the Daily Mail he wants Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Nikola Milenkovic, Ivan Perisic and Ante Rebic

It's no surprise to see Milinkovic-Savic, Perisic or Rebic on the list, all three players were reportedly targets in the summer, but Milenkovic is a new name but as a central defender it's still not too surprising.

The former Real Madrid manager's biggest problem could come in persuading Ed Woodward to allow him to spend the money, especially if his future is still in doubt.

Those four deals would cost quite a lot and if there's any chance Mourinho won't be in charge at Old Trafford next season then it's unlikely the Red Devils would pay for them.

Mourinho watched Serbia's win against Montenegro in the Nations League last week to take a closer look at Milinkovic-Savic and Milenkovic.
