Around 24 hours left.

"Be still my beating heart" so Spurs fans will be telling themselves at the thought of Isco joining Mauricio Pochettino's side at White Hart Lane this season. But it could still happen!

Spurs have been linked with Isco in the last few days, with the Real Madrid attacking midfielder being out of favour at the Bernabeu. But with just over 24 hours left of the transfer window there surely isn't too much chance.

However according to Spanish newspaper AS the Spaniard has been told to leave Los Blancos with James Rodriguez not going anywhere and 20 year-old Marco Asensio also ahead of the former Malaga man in the pecking order.

And the report says that the 24 year-old would only consider a move to either Tottenham or back to his former club, Malaga, at the moment.

There is so much talent at Real that it's been difficult for the midfielder to get into Zinedine Zidane's side and he only made 21 starts last season. Asenio's rise makes his chances of first team football in the Spanish capital even less likely.

When he moved from Malaga in 2013 he had the option of joining former manager Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City but chose Real instead and much was hoped from him but it never materialised.

Isco would be a brilliant signing for Spurs even on an initial year long loan. But can they get it done in time?
