With Carlo Ancelotti gone the Bayern player could decide to jump ship and join the Serie A side.

If at first you don't succeed try, try and try again. That seems to be the fashion when it comes to summer transfers right now and the possibility of moves happening in January as Inter Milan try once again to sign a summer target.

Every summer there is a hell of a lot of transfer rumours and only so many of them can happen, partially because so many players get linked with multiple clubs and of course because half of the rumours are nonsense.

However last summer really did seem to be one where a lot of the transfers that looked certain to happen just didn't materialise as Philippe Coutinho stayed at Liverpool, Alexis Sanchez stuck around at Arsenal and Virgil van Dijk wasn't allowed to leave Southampton.

All of those transfers are being touted as possible January moves which could see a very busy winter window, for once. And Inter Milan don't want to miss out on a player for the second time either.

In the summer the Italian club tried to sign Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich for £44 million and according to Corriere Dello Sport Luciano Spalletti's club will once again make a move for the midfielder in January.

The Italian newspaper suggests that Carlo Ancelotti was Vidal's 'biggest fan' at the Bundesliga club and with the Italian not in charge at the Allianz Arena anymore it could pave the way for the transfer.

Vidal played in Italy for four years with Juventus, winning the league four times, before moving to Bayern in 2015 for €37 million and has won two German titles in his time there.

The 30 year-old's contract in Germany runs until the summer of 2019 but with just 19 months on his deal the German champions could decide now is the best time to cash in on him.

Inter are currently third in the league in Italy, just two points behind leaders Napoli and level with rivals Juve.

Which of the summer's nearly men will move at the start of 2018?
