Hull City have looked doomed for relegation for pretty much most of the season. However the arrival of Marco Silva has brought some optimism to the club and now they're battling some of Europe's biggest teams for one of the biggest talents around.

On the eve of the summer Steve Bruce quit the club having got them promoted from the Championship the season before. That left Mike Phelan in charge of the club as interim manager.

Phelan was barely able to add to the threadbare squad in the summer transfer window but still managed wins over champions Leicester and Swansea City early in the season.

However after becoming the full time boss things went south quickly for the former Manchester United assistant manager and he was eventually sacked.

Marco Silva's appointment has brought some optimism and, according to The Daily Mail, the Portuguese manager is lining up a move for Genk 19 year old teenage sensation Leon Bailey.

The 19 year old Jamaican has previously caught the eye of the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea but Hull are hoping to jump ahead of their rivals by making a move for the player.

According to the paper the Tigers have put together a £10.3 million offer for the teenage winger and are hoping to wrap up the deal by the end of the transfer window next week.

However the Belgian team are reported to want closer to £20 million for the highly rated youngster.

Roma, Bayer Leverkusen and Napoli are also said to be interested in Bailey who has netted six goals for his club so far this season.
