He's played for five Premier League sides during his career and Glen Johnson is set to grace another top flight shirt with a summer switch looking likely.

The 32-year-old broke into the West Ham fold after graduating from the academy but secured a move across London to Chelsea.

Though it didn't go to plan which prompted a loan stint to Portsmouth before they eventually signed him on a permanent.

His exploits for Pompey - which included winning the FA Cup - saw Liverpool snap him up.

Johnson would go onto enjoy six seasons at Anfield.

A lack of first-team opportunities led the move to Stoke City but having not played enough games this season it hasn't triggered the option for another year.

The English right-back is set to be a free-agent in the summer with Crystal Palace prepared to offer Johnson a contract at the end of the season.

According to The Sun, Palace have made the first move to lure Johnson to Selhurst Park on a free transfer.

Sam Allardyce is hoping to acquire his services so he can bolster competition to that position while adding a wealth of experience to the back-line.

Yet if Big Sam wants Johnson he'll have to fend off interest from his former side. West Ham are also keeping tabs on the player in view to a summer reunion.

While Johnson received an England call up during his Stoke spell, it appears he'll end his association with the Potters as he heads back to London with both West Ham and Palace in the race for his signature.
