RB Leipzig really want to make sure everyone is aware that Dayot Upamecano has recently signed a new contract with the German club, after he was linked with Manchester United.

The Premier League side look set to announce the signing of Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek at any time in the near future, their first signing of the summer.

With that move all but wrapped up, centre back Upamecano, who majorly impressed in the recent Champions League tournament, was named as their next target.

The 21-year-old though recently signed a new deal at Leipzig and, just in case anyone missed that news, the club's social media team were on hand to remind everyone, three times in two hours.

Subtle lads, real subtle!

The French defender has spent the past three and a half years with the controversial Bundesliga club, after moving from sister side Red Bull Salzburg for €10 million in January 2017, and has become hot property in that time.

Previously he's been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal on more than one occasion and his performance in the club's run to the Champions League semi-final, especially in the quarter final against Atletico Madrid, really made him stand out.

Despite spending £80 million on Harry Maguire last summer, and United's defence being much improved compared to the previous season, Solskjaer is still looking for a partner for the captain.

Both Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly have been inconsistent since their arrivals at Old Trafford and the manager is looking to add more pace to his backline.

Jadon Sancho had originally been the number one target for the club this summer but they have yet to meet Borussia Dortmund's asking price.

Instead the first arrival of the summer is expected to be Van de Beek, who looks set to arrive from Ajax later this week for £40 million.
