They've not had a good start to the season.

It's no secret that Diego Simeone was hoping to bring Diego Costa back to Atletico Madrid this summer. However Antonio Conte decided to keep the Premier League's best bastard at Stamford Bridge but Costa wasn't the €70 million man Simeone tried to bring to the Vicente Calderon.

For the second time in three years Simeone and his Atleti side were left heartbroken by a harsh Champions League defeat against city rivals Real Madrid in the final. It left many wondering if the Argentinian, a pretty good bastard himself, might leave his beloved Atleti.

Instead the former captain decided to stay as the manager and began to rebuild. He wanted a new striker and wanted Costa but when that didn't work he looked to the Bernabeu and, according to Spanish newspaper AS, made a huge €70 million bid for Alvaro Morata that was obviously rejected.

Morata returned to Los Blancos this summer for €30 million having been at Juventus for two season and many expected that after bringing their striker back from Italy he would be sold on.

However Morata has started both league games for Zinedine Zidane's side this season and scored in both games, including the opener in their 2-1 win last night, and though Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo are expected to knock him out of the first team on their return but he's clearly still important this season.

According to the report Real informed the rivals who live in their shadow that they won't sell any players to their bitter rivals.
