Good deal for both sides.

Jose Mourinho might have felt like Everton already got a good deal from his Manchester United team at the weekend when they came away with a point but Ronald Koeman's side are hoping for a different kind of deal in January.

Everton were pretty deserving of their point at the weekend having penned in their visitors for the final 20 minutes of the match and benefitting from some idiotic play by their former player Marouane Fellaini.

It was a good point for Ronald Koeman's side however it did stretch their record to just one win in the last nine league games and seven points behind fifth place Spurs.

However the Toffees will still need a boost in January to be in with a chance of qualifying for Europe and, according to Squawka, they held talks with United after the game on the weekend for Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin.

According to the website Koeman will be given £60 million in January to spend on new players, although disappointingly they haven't referred to it as a war chest.

Dutch winger is thought to be Everton's top target but any move is likely to be a loan move rather than a permanent transfer.

Schneiderlin is likely to be sold considering he's behind Fellaini and Bastian Schweinsteiger in the pecking order right now.

If the Frenchman moves to Merseyside he would rekindle his working relationship with Koeman who managed him at Southampton however the Saints are amongst a group of other interested sides.

Everton have held several discussions with United about the pair but the conversation on Sunday was fresh talks as the pair take a step closer to the exit door at Old Trafford.
