Everton Finally Agree Deal For Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson

News has just broke that Everton have finally agreed a deal for Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Ronald Koeman's big spenders had identified the Icelandic midfielder as a top target this summer but saw a number of bids knocked back by the Swans, who were determined to get the best possible deal for their talisman.

And now, this evening, a fee of £45 million has been agreed between the two clubs, with Sigurdsson set to have a medical tomorrow ahead of his move being made official.

Sigurdsson enjoyed an excellent season at the Liberty Stadium last term, scoring nine goals and registering 13 assists in the Premier League.

The 27-year old was integral to Swansea retaining their Premier League status for another season, and his productive campaign saw only Kevin De Bruyne and Christian Eriksen, two of the league's chief creators, record more assists.

Moreover, he's cemented his place as one of the top set-piece specialists in the top flight - and Everton fans will be hoping he is able to carry that over to the blue half of Merseyside.

Sigurdsson is poised to become Everton's eighth signing in what has been a summer of big changes at Goodison Park.
