Interesting move.

Not often you see players swap the Premier League for the Championship but that's exactly what James Chester has done.

After starring for Wales during the Euro's, Chester was subject to interest from clubs in England, one of them being relegated Aston Villa. While weighing up the offer, and their rubbish start to life in England's second tier, they've wasting no time in enhancing their squad while they can.

The club have followed up their initial interest by coming in with a bid as the Welshman is set for a Villa medical after West Brom accepted a £9 million bid for the defender.

The former Manchester United player made 12 league appearances last season before helping guide his national side to the semi's in the Euro's, featuring in every game under Chris Coleman.

The 27-year-old has experienced how grueling the Championship can be, and the Villa Park faithfuls will be hoping he can emulate his Hull City form by getting promotion back to the Premier League.

What do you say Villa fans, good signing? Sound off in the comments section below.
