Eric Dier Isn't A Fan Of Transfer Deadline Day

Eric Dier Isn't A Fan Of Transfer Deadline Day

He's not the only one...

At this point I'm definitely fed up with Transfer Deadline Day to the point that I'm ready to make a garrott out of Jim White's yellow tie long before Sky's transfer guru gets onto tv to do his last broadcast of the night as the window shuts and I'm not the only one.

With the transfer window coming to a close and not opening again until January we can put all this "will they, won't they" nonsense behind us like the end of Friends. But whilst in the media it's a total smorgasboard of enjoyable articles about who is moving where not everyone loves the window with Eric Dier speaking out against it.

Dier is currently with the England team and asked at a press conference what he thought about the window closing the Spurs defender-turned midfielder wasn't too complimentary about the window closing after the start of the season:

"I think it's unfair on the managers and the players.

"I guess it's good entertainment for everyone, but once the season starts I like to be at a club where everyone is pushing in the same direction and everyone knows where they stand.

"I don't think it helps players and managers once the season starts."

A lot of people share Dier's idea that the window should close as soon as the season starts, or just before obviously, but would it really make it any better? It would just bring the mad rush forward and if anything make it worse with the window being open about a month shorter.

Plus it'll be awkward if Spurs sign anyone for the rest of the night, "Oh so you're the guy who doesn't think we should be here..."
