Liverpool may be on the verge of going through to the final of the Champions League but they look set to be hit with the news that Emre Can will leave them for Juventus in the summer.

It's been an excellent season of progress for Liverpool as they have played some excellent football, cemented their place in the top four and are on the verge of making it into the Champions League final.

Check out our XI of players who could leave on frees this summer:

They hold a three goal advantage over Roma going into the second leg on Wednesday and whilst Jurgen Klopp will not want to get ahead of himself after the Serie A side came back from the same goal difference against Barcelona in the previous round.

The week hasn't had a good start for the Reds though with Klopp's long term assistant Zeljko Buvac taking a leave of absence due to personal reasons and now the news that they will lose Emre Can in the summer.

Can's contract runs out at the end of the season and there's long been linked with a move to Juventus but now Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Can is set to sign for the Old Lady with a five year deal with £3.5 million-a-year.

Now you can call my a cynic, and the news may well be true, but one can't help but think the timing of the report seems a little questionable considering Liverpool play an Italian side this week.

However there's no doubt that there is interest from the Italian league leaders and they have been favourites to sign him all season, despite reported interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester City, so there's no reason to think it won't happen.

Can won't play on Wednesday as he is still out injured following a back problem picked up in the recent victory against Watford last month.

Liverpool have already got one reinforcement in midfield confirmed for the summer as Naby Keita was signed from RB Leipzig at the beginning of this season to join this summer.

Klopp's side will be targeting an assault on the Premier League title and still has some areas of his team to improve.

Where will Liverpool finish next season?
