Micah Richards might not have played football for over 500 days but that won't stop him potentially doubling his wages come the end of the season. It could speed up his departure from Aston Villa.
Richards was once one of the biggest prospects in British football, breaking through at a Manchester City that were building into one of the Premier League's top sides and even winning a title under Roberto Mancini in the infamous Agerooooooo game.
Check out the video of some other England players you might have forgotten about:
The defender played at right back for City, England and even Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics but was never able to capture the form that was expected of him and ended up joining Aston Villa in 2015.

He became captain and made 24 appearances in the season they were relegated from the Premier League but at least he didn't tweet a picture of a sports car.
Now Richards hasn't actually played in over 500 days, a pretty desperate situation for him, but according to the Daily Mail a clause in his contract means if Villa get promoted this season he'll double his wages to £70,000-a-week.
The Villa man's contract runs till 2019 and talks are likely to be held in the summer and with Steve Bruce not trusting the 29 year old to play, because of his ability or his fitness, then maybe an agreement before then could be made for him to leave.

Steve Bruce's side's chances of going up may rely on the play-offs. They're currently only four points outside of the automatic promotion places in the Championship but Cardiff's form is very good right now.
The Villains have won three of their last five games but have a loss and a draw in recent games too.
There's no guarantee where Richards goes from here so hopefully he can find himself a new club soon or find a way into Bruce's plans.
