Club Willing To Save Mario Gotze But Only If Deal Is Right

Club Willing To Save Mario Gotze But Only If Deal Is Right

The German is having some issues but one club could yet save him.

No one will ever be able to take Mario Gotze's World Cup winning goal away from him, he will always be one of the few men to hold such an accolade, but unless there's a dramatic change his career may not live up to the heights it should.

The infamous images of Gotze talking to Joachim Low moments before coming on in the 2014 World Cup final and then scoring the winning goal not long after in extra time against Argentina will live in football folklore forever.

Gotze was thought of as one of the best young talents in Europe when he made the all too familiar move from Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich in 2013 and despite being in that Germany squad things never worked out for him at the Allianz Arena.

In his last season, under Pep Guardiola, he made just 14 appearances in Bundesliga and a move became inevitable. He moved back to the club who'd made him famous, Dortmund. However the 24 year old is now out 'indefinitely' with an illness, reported to be myopathy.

According to Goal however his former manager Jurgen Klopp is willing to get the best out of Gotze when he does return. But unlike in the summer the German is no longer a priority to the Reds.

Last summer when Gotze was leaving Bayern he was heavily linked to a reunion with Klopp at Anfield and they were desperate to sign him. Gotze though decided to chose Germany and a place in the Champions League.

The original plan for the top for chasers was to go all out in their attempts to sign Gotze and they would have made him one of their top earners.

Now though the five time Bundesliga champion would have to wait to get fit before having any chance of moving to England and even then he wouldn't be a priority signing for Liverpool, probably defenders first you'd imagine.

The former Bundesliga young player of the year has only played 16 times this season and whilst there's no guarantee he'll be leaving the Westfalenstadion any time soon his career could do with a reboot of some sort.

Will Gotze leave for Liverpool?
