Life for Manchester City players is pretty sweet right now, especially with them flying at the top of the Premier League table, but for one of their players it's about to become even better with his new wage.

It's never really too difficult to be a Premier League footballer, after all you are being paid a lot of money to play football, but it's going to be a lot better if you are always winning.

That's what's happening for Manchester City players right now. They're doing everything so spot on that they're manager is seeking opposition players out to shout at them, and even that's just to give them compliments.

After not making any progress in winning titles last season Pep Guardiola has really shown his worth this term and despite it only being the beginning of December they look near certainties for the title.

That effect is the reason of the most improved players since Pep arrived is about to become the best paid player in the league. According to the Daily Mail City are readying a new deal worth more than £300k-a-week for Raheem Sterling!

The figure, whatever its exact amount, would take him above Paul Pogba as the Premier League's top earner and put him into the realms of what the likes of Hulk and Axel Witsel are earning in China.

And it would take a braver man to suggest the 22 year old doesn't deserve the boost in his wages after his recent impact. He's played brilliantly this season and in three games in the past two weeks he scored very late winners for the Citizens.

When Guardiola arrived in the summer of 2016 it was on the back of the former Liverpool forward having an absolute stinker in the Euros for England. It was a tournament of poor performances but he was the team's scapegoat.

Plenty expected him to struggle under the former Barcelona manager but instead he has turned it around and is now one of City's most important players.
