In 2013 Harry Redknapp did one of the most Harry Redknapp things possible by signing Christopher Samba for QPR in January only to sell him at the end of the season. Now the big centre back could make his return to England.

It was peak Redknapp at a time when the former Portsmouth manager and the London club were throwing money around like it was going out of business.

As they attempted to stay in the Premier League the QPR boss spent £12.5 million on the former Blackburn Rovers defender and a reported £100k-a-week.

By April the club were relegated and by May Samba, who'd played just 10 times for the club, was sold back to Anzhi Makhachkala for £12 million.

Four years on and two teams later the Sun are reporting that Samba is set to join Sam Allardyce's Crystal Palace on a short term deal to the end of the season.

The 32 year old was most recently playing in Greece with Panathinaikos but had his contract cancelled just four days ago due to the amount of time he'd missed this season with injuries.

Big Sam though is desperate to improve his team and especially his defence. Palace have conceded eight goals in their last four Premier League games.

The former England manager has not been able to bring a new manager 'bounce' to Selhurst Park and the London side are still battling relegation in 18th place.

The Congolese defender and the former Bolton Wanderers manager worked together for two years at Ewood Park where Samba first came to England and spent six years.

Will Samba be a success in the Premier League this time?
