When Real Madrid set their beady eyes on a new transfer target there's not much you can do to stop the move happening usually. Chelsea are hoping that a big new contract will be enough to keep Eden Hazard from moving.
There's one thing that we can pretty much guarantee when it comes to football this summer, Florentino Perez will be splashing the cash at Real Madrid in order to freshen up the side's attack.
Check out our exclusive interview with Chelsea legend Michael Essien:
Perez is the inventor of the Galacticos and isn't usually shy when it comes to paying a lot of money for the world's biggest names but last summer the club decided to sign some talented youngsters instead of the big names.

That didn't really work as Los Blancos find themselves 15 points behind Barcelona in the league with the infamous BBC far from firing on all cylinders. Reports suggest Bale and Benzema could be out with new signings in to replace them.
Eden Hazard would no doubt be near the top of any wanted list in the Spanish capital. However they face a fight from Chelsea and according to the Daily Mail the Blues are ready to offer a deal worth £300k-a-week plus bonuses to ward off Real's interest.
The 27 year-old's current deal runs until 2020 and the Belgian has often said that he is happy at Stamford Bridge although it has also been reported that he would like to work with Real manager Zinedine Zidane.

The Frenchman's future at the Bernabeu could be in some doubt. Despite back-to-back Champions League trophies the former midfielder is under pressure because of the poor league form this season, though a third win in Europe remains a possibility.
Of course Chelsea could fail to qualify for the Champions League for the second time in three years if they fail to finish in the top four and that would also put doubt on Hazard's future.
Real are also after Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski to freshen up their strike force whilst fellow Chelsea player Thibaut Courtois could also be a target.
