Another season, another new manager at Chelsea. That's pretty much the pattern we've got to, at least every other year, Maurizio Sarri will be hoping he can copy fellow Italian Antonio Conte by winning the title in his first year and one big signing could help.
Managers don't tend to last long in the Roman Abramovich era. Winning the Premier League tends to only get you a year longer in the job, if that, and even winning the Champions League, Roman' Holy Grail, only brought Roberto di Matteo and extra few months.
And so the unexpected Premier League title for Antonio Conte in 2016/17 did not buy him enough time to make the 2018/19 season, even the FA Cup win in May brought him no extra time.
Instead one Italian was swapped for another as Maurizio Sarri swapped Naples for west London to join the Blues and instantly set about telling press how much he hates transfers, which will please his boss.

Chelsea of course don't hate transfers but prefer their manager to just accept whatever he's given so Sarri's outlook is pretty handy for that.
And Chelsea are still hoping to do some pretty good transfer business. According to Sky Italia the Blues have already made contact with Juventus over a move for striker Gonzalo Higuain.
Higuain and Sarri worked together at Napoli before the Argentina striker decided to move to Turin and, despite not wanting to get involved in transfers, Sarri wants to be reunited with the player.

The Old Lady could well be interested in selling their former record transfer, because of the fact they've broken that record this summer. Max Allegri's side of course signed Cristiano Ronaldo for £105 million and will need to sell because FFP, whilst it also helps not having too many forwards in their squad.
The 30 year old is hardly a stranger to links with the Premier League. Before he moved from Real Madrid to Serie A it felt like he was being linked with Arsenal on a near weekly basis.
His move to Napoli saw him score 71 goals in 104 league appearances, earning himself a big move to Juve. At the Serie A champions he's scored 40 goals in 73 league appearances, winning two titles in that time.
