The January transfer window is just a few days away from closing but it appears Antonio Conte is already eyeing up a mega transfer in the summer.

Chilean outlet El Mercurio are claiming that the Chelsea boss is set launch a staggering bid to sign Bayern Munich's Arturo Vidal.

The report also indicates that the Italian has identified Vidal as his No.1 transfer target with the pair already in dialogue.

It's believed that the Chelsea hierarchy have given Conte the green light as talks are set to get underway in the summer.

Though he won't come cheap.

Bayern have slapped a whopping £56 million price tag on the Chilean star after forking out £25.5 million to acquire his services from Juventus in 2015.

What's more, Vidal is reportedly having English lessons as a move to England's top flight becomes more of a reality.

Not to mention the midfielder 'liking' a post on Instagram linking him with a move to Stamford Bridge earlier in the month.

If the transfer does come to fruition, it'll reunite them once again.

Conte snapped up Vidal from Bayer Leverkusen during his spell as Juve boss, and the 29-year-old was an important cog winning the Serie A title in each season under Conte.

Chelsea are on course to regain the league title and with aspirations to strengthen their already formidable side, they're set to become an even stiffer test next season.
