After a frustrating start to the season Michy Batshuayi is in danger of being replaced in the January transfer window as Antonio Conte considers finding a new understudy for the injured Alvaro Morata.

In the summer Antonio Conte decided he was done with Diego Costa and wanted to bring in Alvaro Morata as his first choice striker but more importantly to the Chelsea manager was signing a second choice striker.

Morata came to Stamford Bridge relatively early in the window and then Conte set about trying to sign another striker with his heart firmly set on Swansea striker Fernando Llorente but the Spaniard moved to Spurs instead.

It left the Blues a little short up top with Michy Batshuayi, who Conte tried to send out on loan in the summer, as Alvaro Morata's only back up. The former Real Madrid striker's injury has landed a blow to the Premier League champions and left their manager considering his options.

According to the Telegraph the Stamford Bridge club are eyeing up three possible strikers in January with Conte interested in Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke, Leicester's Jamie Vardy and former Juventus striker Richmond Boakye.

The paper suggests that fellow Belgian Benteke is the most likely to replace Batshuayi, who would now be sent out on loan, stating that Conte 'admires' the former Liverpool front man.

That news isn't likely to put smiles on the faces of Chelsea fans as the 26 year old is currently injured and hasn't scored this season for Palace, whose first goals came against Chelsea at the weekend.

Vardy has previously been a Chelsea target and they could return for the Leicester striker who nearly left for Arsenal in the summer of 2016.

Red Star striker Richmond Boakye was at Juventus at the same time as Conte and the Blues are set to watch the 24 year old in the Europa League against Arsenal this week.

Whoever Conte makes a move for it's not good news for Batshuayi.
