Chelsea And Arsenal Both In For Barcelona Midfielder
Antonio Conte and Arsene Wenger are set to go head to head to sign Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan according to Spanish newspaper Sport. The Turkish midfielder has only been at the Camp Nou for one season but the club are looking to sell.
Turan has been with Barcelona for a year but after joining from Atletico Madrid at the end of the 2014/15 season he wasn't able to play for his new club until January because of their transfer ban. Having made his debut, and a total of 18 La Liga games the Turk has been unable to keep up with the high standards in Catalunya.
The reports suggest that the former Galatasaray player, who has won La Liga titles with both Barca and Atleti, could be bought for just £20 million, an absolute steal considering the price of some players in the Premier League at the moment.
Arsenal have had issues with the consistency of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at right wing and with Aaron Ramsey showing during the Euros just how good he is through the middle it may give Wenger second thoughts on playing him on the right.
Conte is looking to change Chelsea's system after last season's shambles and the theory is that he'll be moving to a 4-4-2/4-2-4 and could do with more cover for his wide midfielders.
