Bayern Munich certainly raised an eyebrow or two when they sacked Carlo Ancelotti this week. As one of the best managers in world football they'll be plenty of interested parties but he only wants one job reportedly.

For the past five years Bayern Munich have been German champions and no one expects that run to end anytime soon in all honesty but it didn't stop the board deciding to sack Carlo Ancelotti.

The Italian took over from Pep Guardiola last season and duly delivered yet another Bundesliga title but they fell short in the quarter finals of the Champions League. This season the team are just three points off the top of the table but a loss to PSG in the Champions League was the final straw.

As a three time Champions League winner the 58 year-old is likely to be high on any team's list who might be looking for a new manager anytime. He's already been linked with a return to former club AC Milan.

However according to Mediaset Premium in his homeland, via Metro, it's not a return to the San Siro or Serie A that he's looking at. In fact it's a move to the Premier League and Arsenal that interests him.

Mediaset report that the former PSG boss will spend the rest of this season away from football and enjoy some time travelling but any vacancy at the Emirates Stadium would make him change his mind.

Ancelotti has previous experience in the Premier League and managing in London when he took Chelsea to a Premier League and FA Cup double in 2009/10 but was sacked at the end of the next season.

Arsene Wenger signed a new two year deal at the end of last season and after a mixed start to the season his Arsenal team sit in seventh, just one point below rivals Spurs.

It unlikely that the Gunners' boss is going anywhere just yet but who knows what the future holds.
