West Ham have been hellbent on acquiring new talent in the January transfer window but it appears their talisman Dimitri Payet is set to leave East London following asking to leave the club.

During Slaven Bilic's press conference he confirmed that the Frenchman no longer wants to play for the Hammers and won't be involved this weekend when they host Crystal Palace.

Payet produced heroics last season and continued that great form into the European Championships bagging three goals and two assists.

Bilic broke the news earlier, saying; "Let's get serious. I have a situation with a player. It is Dimitri Payet. He wants to leave. We have said we don't want to sell our best players but Payet does not want to play for us."

Despite the huge revelations, the Croatian boss insists Payet won't be sold this month; "We are not going to sell him. This team, the staff, we gave him everything, we were always there for him. I feel let down. I feel angry."

Payet and Co. have started 2017 horribly by suffering back-to-back defeats to Manchester United as well as a humiliating 5-nil loss at home to Manchester City in the FA Cup.
