It appears the Alexandre Lacazette transfer saga is nearing a completion.

The Lyon striker has been dominating the transfer rumour mills for sometime now, and talks intensified after he declared he was set to move away from France.

Following his exploits in Ligue 1, a host of potential suitors expressed an interest with Premier League's Arsenal and Liverpool keen on acquiring his services.

But bad news Arsenal and Liverpool.

Lacazette has decided to join Atletico Madrid per RMC Sports. According to reports, advanced discussions are taking place for the deal to be finalised.

The 25-year-old has chosen to link up with the La Liga side ahead of a reported £33 million transfer.

After bagging 24 league goals this season, while speculating on is own future, he put Europe on alert.

Though Atletico are set to win the race to his coveted signature, beating competition from England in the process.

While Atletico are banned from signing new players, they have appealed their suspension and are hopeful the embargo will be lifted this summer.

Lacazette is the clubs No.1 transfer target, and could seal the deal imminently who could be faced with losing Antoine Griezmann in the summer, too.

He continues to be subject to intense speculation with Manchester United reportedly on the verge of securing his services.

Meanwhile, Lyon suffered a 4-1 defeat to Ajax in the first-leg of their Europa League semi-final, with Lacazette starting from the bench before eventually coming on but to no effect.
