Guess who's back! It appears Ched Evans is set to make a sensational return to Sheffield United.

On 20 June 2016, the Welsh striker signed his first deal since his release from prison and the quashing of his conviction, signing a contract with League One's Chesterfield.

He was signed by his former Blades manager Danny Wilson, and their first-team coach was his ex-club colleague Chris Morgan.

But according to reports, the 28-year-old is on the verge of re-signing with Sheffield United and is expected to undergo a medical later this week.

Evans will be a free agent after only agreeing to a one-year deal last summer. While at Chesterfield, Evans made 25 league appearances bagging five goals.

Sheffield United won promotion back to the Championship, winning the League One title at a canter and are on course to rack up 100 league points should they win their last game of the campaign.
