Branislav Ivanovic is on the verge of completing his move away from Chelsea. The Serbian defender is set to return to Russia signing with Zenit St Petersburg.

The 32-year-old has flown to Zenit's winter training camp in Spain to undergo a medical as he finalises the move.

Though not without West Brom briefly flirting with the idea of bringing him to the Hawthorns following interest from Tony Pulis. But the Baggies ultimately withdrew their interest.

Since joining Chelsea in 2008, Ivanovic has compiled over 200 appearances winning the lot; from the league title, to the FA Cup not to mention lifting the Champions League on that famous night in Munich.

But after an extensive spell in the side, Antonio Conte has now deemed him surplus to requirements following his slide down the defensive pecking order.

Despite having six-months left to run on his contract, he'll be allowed to leave the club on a free, and will be sorely missed by the Chelsea faithfuls.
