Manchester City's Brazilian contingent is very strong, but could another Samba star join the club in the near future?

Well, Shakhtar midfielder Fred was asked about the possibility of moving to the Premier League leaders and he couldn't have shown any more enthusiasm about a potential move.

Speaking to Globo Esporte after a recent charity game in Brazil, he said he's waiting for Pep Guardiola to hit him up, while also admitting his dream of playing in England.

The 24-year old was part of the only team to beat Manchester City this season when Shakhtar won 2-1 in the final group game, with City already topping the group.

He impressed in that game, as well as the reverse fixture at the Etihad, where City won 2-0 - and he's been touted as a potential successor to Fernandinho, City's current Brazilian midfield general who has been incredible since joining in 2013.

Fernandinho, a hugely important player for City, has penned a contract extension but it is in City's best interests to search for his long-term replacement - and Fred would appear to be one of the best-suited options.

City have Danilo, Gabriel Jesus, Ederson as well as Fernandinho in their ranks but there's definitely room for another high-quality Brazilian signing.
