This would be an incredible piece of business

Eddie Howe is seeking to add some experience to his current playing squad once the transfer window reopens.

And the Bournemouth manager is already plotting an incredible piece of business in the summer.

While Bournemouth are safe for yet another season, Howe is hellbent on drafting in players who know the Premier League like the back of their hand.

Enter two of the league's finest.

Chelsea's John Terry and Sunderland's Jermain Defoe will be free agents in the summer and the 'Cherries' are hopeful they can snap up the pair of league stalwarts.

Defoe is set to leave relegated Sunderland, and Bournemouth are confident they can acquire his services once again.

The striker enjoyed a loan spell on the South-Coast as a budding 18-year-old from West Ham, and even played alongside the current gaffer in the old Div. 2.

The 34-year-old has scored a bagful of goals this season which saw him rewarded with an England call-up.

Meanwhile, Terry's association with Chelsea is coming to an end once the season is concluded but the 36-year-old intends to carry on playing.

After expressing an interest in drafting him on loan in January, it appears they'll offer Terry a contract so they can add a wealth of knowledge to a relative inexperience defensive back-line.

Defoe and Terry are already subject to plenty of attention so there's a whole lot of negotiations to be played out in the coming months.

Though if Bournemouth do complete this double swoop, that'll be some statement ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
