Bayern Set To Double Their Money On Player Who Left In 2014

Bayern Set To Double Their Money On Player Who Left In 2014

Bayern Munich are going to take very good advantage of a transfer clause they put in a player's contract three years ago, well played.

Club wants player, club bid for player, other club reject, club bids more, other club accepts, club negotiates with player, player signs. It used to be so much easier but transfer clauses make life more confusing. Not that Bayern Munich will mind.

Of course doing any transfer business was probably always as hard as it seems to be now but the invention of social media and 24 hour rolling news has meant that we hear about every single twist and turn in every deal in a transfer window.

That means that moves like Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool to Barcelona seem a lot more confusing and long winded than they ever have before, turning every potential deal into a saga.

Transfer difficulties now seen to surround clubs not wanting to pay upfront and instead wanting to pay things in installments and adding clauses for future. That's what happened when Bayern Munich sold full-back Diego Contento to Bordeaux in 2014.

The German's added a 50% sell on clause to the deal. Now, according to L'Equipe, the full back is set to move to Hamburg for €5 million and that means the Bundesliga champs will more than double their money, earning €2.5 million now, up from the €1 million they initially sold the player for.

It's certainly worked out for Bayern as even though it's not a lot of money they are due to earn more from the team they sold Contento to selling him back to the Bundesliga.

AC Milan plotting mega offer for Bayern star

AC Milan have brought in ten new players as part of a massive summer overhaul, but they still aren't resting on their laurels and are planning another major signing before the Serie A campaign gets under way.

Reports today claim the club are looking to bring Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal back to Italy, with Chilean TV station TVN, via Football Italia, claiming that the Rossoneri have already been in touch with Vidal's entourage and have already tabled a massive contract offer that will see his current wages doubled.
