Asamoah Gyan seems to have made a nice niche for himself by being known as a player who gets quite surprising moves making decent money. The Ghanaian striker seems to have got himself a new team.

Gyan is mostly remembered for his penalty miss in the World Cup quarter-final between Ghana and Uruguay after Luis Suarez goal-line 'save' in the last seconds of extra-time. Oddly the second time I've written about that this morning, just seven years later.

After missing the spot kick that would have taken his team through the captain then had to step up just moments later in the shoot-out and managed to bury the penalty this time, unfortunately the African's still lost.

Probably second on the list of what Gyan is known for is his decision to leave the Premier League in favour of the wealth of the UAE Pro League in 2011 to play in an inferior level of football.

It's no surprise that the 31 year-old chased more money by moving to the Chinese Super League in 2015 although recently he's been back on loan in the UAE with AlAhli.

According to reports in Ghanaian media the striker is set for a return to Europe with Turkish Super Lig club Bursaspor apparently offering him €200k-a-week to make the move.

That penalty! An incredible and unfortunate moment. Image: PA

Nihat Katoglu, a source close to the story, told the Ghanaian media, "I can confirm that Bursaspor have reached an agreement with Shanghai SIPG and Asamoah and the Ghanaian will sign a two-year deal after his holidays in Ghana."

He's quite the money machine Gyan. A decent striker but surely not worth that much?
