Arsene Wenger is resigned to losing Alexis Sanchez with the Arsenal boss eyeing up a replacement, and he's prepared to table a fresh bid in January.

Despite a massive offer from Manchester City on transfer deadline day, Sanchez remained an Arsenal player once the window slammed shut. Though with the players contract expiring at the end of the season, his days in North London are numbered.

City reportedly submitted a £60 million offer. But Arsenal failing to secure the signing of AS Monaco's Thomas Lemar prevented the sale of the Chilean.

Arsenal themselves saw a mega offer rejected. A believed £90 million bid was not enough to lure Lemar to the Emirates.

But once the January transfer window opens, the intense speculation involving the aforementioned players will no doubt surface.

As well as Sanchez and Lemar, Raheem Sterling will also be subject to plenty of interest. That's because Arsenal are plotting a fresh bid for the attacker in January, according to the Mirror.

Arsenal were hoping to land the England international as part of a player-plus-cash deal for Sanchez. However, Pep Guardiola was hellbent on keeping Sterling at the Etihad.

Sterling has already bagged some vital goals for City including goals against Everton and a last minute winner against Bournemouth.

Guardiola views him as an important player ahead of a long grueling campaign. But Arsenal will test City's resolve once more when the January market opens.

Wenger has identified Sterling as the man to fill the shoes of Sanchez who's heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal.

His contract expires at the end of the season with a host of clubs keeping tabs on him. From Manchester City to Real Madrid per Metro.
