Big news from Arsenal surfaced yesterday with it being confirmed today as Arsene Wenger has been handed a new two-year-contract, as he now sets his sights on transfers ahead of next season.

While the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have been dominating the transfer rumours mills for some time now.

It appears the future of one of his summer signings has made it clear he wants to leave the club.

Lucas Perez has reportedly told Wenger of his intentions of quitting the club after just the one season in the Premier League, per reports from AS.

The Spanish striker was drafted in from La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna for a believed £17.1 million fee.

But he's become frustrated at the lack of first-team opportunities as he remains hopeful of a switch back to his native Spain.

His Arsenal career has seen him play a bit-part role under Wenger which includes making his last appearance for the club in March in a FA Cup outing.

After featuring in the league just 11 times, scoring just the solitary goal - a mighty goal at that, Perez is adamant he wants to head home in search of regular football.

And there's no shortage of potential suitors. His former side Deportivo as well as Sevilla are monitoring his situation in view to a potential transfer.

Deportivo are prepared to table a offer of £17.5 million, more than what they got for him in the summer, as they aim to reunite with the striker for the new campaign.

Before Perez ultimately penned a deal with Arsenal, Sevilla also came close to acquiring his services. Though they are poised to make another offer.

His desire to leave the club comes as no real surprise following his exclusion from the squad playing against bottom of the table Sunderland earlier in the season.

What do you make of his decision of wanting to leave in the summer?
