Arsenal have already splashed the cash this transfer window by signing Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon for a club record €53 million (£46.5 million).

And Arsene Wenger isn't done there as he's tabled an incredible €50 million for one of his top transfer targets.

The club remain hellbent on signing AS Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar. Arsenal have lodged two bids with both offers rejected.

Arsenal have now submitted their third bid as they seek to secure his services. According to French outlet L'Equipe, Monaco have turned down another bid.

The Gunners have been heavily pursuing Lemar. They originally offered £35 million then an improved £40 million, though both bids were ultimately rejected.

But Arsenal are hoping the increased €50 million offer will prize him away from France.

Needless to say, the Ligue 1 champions are reluctant to sell following the departures of Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy to Manchester City not to mention Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea.

Just like the aforementioned players, Lemar rose to prominence last season as he starred for Monaco as they won the league title, pipping Paris Saint-Germain, while enjoying an incredible run in the Champions League.

Following their heroics, they were put on the transfer map with a host of players leaving. As well as Lemar, Real Madrid remain heavily linked with 18-year-old striker Kylian Mbappe.

Meanwhile, since the transfer window opened, Wenger has drafted in Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac (free transfer) as he continues to eye up new recruits in view to bolstering his squad.
