Philippe Coutinho could be heading to north London this summer, and the Barcelona midfielder is more likely to move to Arsenal than Spurs.

The Barcelona midfielder earned his dream move to La Liga in January 2018 but things really haven't worked out for him at the Nou Camp and he's spent this season on loan at Bayern Munich.

Bayern haven't taken up the option to sign the 28-year-old and he's unlikely to remain at Barca for next season. Now it looks like he could be heading to either the Emirates or Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

According to the Independent the former Liverpool man has been offered to both north London clubs. However the report also says the Gunners are more likely and think a £9 million move, with Matteo Guendouzi going the other way, could be enough for them to sign Coutinho.

Guendouzi has fallen out with manager Mikel Arteta and the Frenchman looks as certain to leave Arsenal this summer as Coutinho is to leave Barcelona.

The Catalan giants have spent several seasons trying to reduce the age of their squad, despite letting Arthur Melo go to Juventus in exchange for Miralem Pjanic this summer, and Guendouzi would certainly help them do that.

The 21-year-old has started 19 games in the league this season, and has been highly thought of at the Emirates in the past, but his temperament has been questioned and he is now out of favour with Arteta.

Juventus are also thought to be interested in the former Lorient midfielder and could also offer a swap deal to the Gunners.

Coutinho would be a good signing for the Gunners, despite not being able to get going with Barca, especially as his best form came in England with Liverpool.

Arteta's need for a central midfielder is likely to be high this summer with on loan Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos not expected to sign on a permanent deal.

Main attacking threat Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could also leave the club this summer and Coutinho can also fill in on the left, where the former Borussia Dortmund star has occasionally played for them.

'Beating' Spurs to the signing of the Brazilian would certainly be an added bonus for Arsenal, should they manage to sign the player.

The move including Guendouzi feels like it would suit everyone pretty well. Will Coutinho end up at Arsenal this summer? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
