Andrea Pirlo and Juventus have placed Paul Pogba as their number one summer target, and could offer Paulo Dybala to Manchester United to entice them to doing a deal.

The former Juventus midfielder took over from Maurizio Sarri last week, after the former Chelsea boss was fired following the team's shock exit in the Champions League at the hands of Lyon.

Pirlo has reportedly already decided that his former midfield partner Pogba is his number one transfer target this summer, according to Tuttosport, and Dybala could be used as part of the deal.

The Argentina striker was voted as Serie A's MVP this season, scoring 11 goals and getting six assists for the Old Lady, as Juve won their ninth Serie A title in-a-row.

However it's thought that Pirlo wants to use an out-and-out number nine for his side, having taken over from Sarri, and is willing to let Dybala go.

The 26-year-old was wanted by both United and Spurs last summer but huge fees wanted by the player and his agent meant the deal was never done.

If the new manager has told him that there's no future at the Allianz Stadium for him then the deal could be easier to finalise this summer.

Pogba's future at Old Trafford has been talked about for some time now and his contract is due to expire in just under a year's time.

For a long time it was expected that he would be leaving Manchester this summer but his return to fitness and form since football came back after the pause for Covid-19 seems to have changed things.

The former Juve man will need to sign a new contract this summer or he'd be able to negotiate his move away from the club for nothing in January 2021.

If he does delay on signing a new deal then Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be willing to let him go and abandon his long term plan of having Pogba in midfield with Bruno Fernandes, a partnership that's already started to flourish.

Pirlo is also thought to be willing to let Gonzalo Higuain, Aaron Ramsey and Douglas Costa all leave Turin this summer, and Douglas has also been talked about as a potential alternative if United can't sign Jadon Sancho.
