Alexis Sanchez looks set to end is awful 18 month spell at Manchester United with a move to Inter, with reports that a deal has been agreed between the two clubs.

The Chilean forward moved from Arsenal to United in January 2018 but things haven't worked out at all for the former Barcelona man, scoring just three times in 33 Premier League games.

Now it seems his short stay at Old Trafford is at an end with reports in Italy claiming that a deal has been agreed, with journalist Fabrizio Romero tweeting, "Alexis Sanchez to Inter, here we go! Done deal with Man United."

Transfer expert Romero followed it up by saying that Sanchez would be in Milan tomorrow for a medical and to sign his deal.

Sanchez will reportedly move to the San Siro on loan until the end of the season with Antonio Conte's side paying €5 million of the player's €12 million wages.

It was expected that any deal for the 30-year-old would include an option, or even obligation, to buy in future but according to Tuesday night's news that isn't the case.

Inter have already signed one forward from United this summer with Romelu Lukaku during the Nerazzurri before the Premier League season started.

The Belgian opened his scoring account for Conte's team in their opening weekend win over Lecce.

Even with Lukaku having moved, Sanchez found himself way down the pecking order in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team and he is yet to appear in a matchday squad this season.

Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have shared duties up front whilst Jesse Lingard and Daniel James have played on the right.

Even youngster Mason Greenwood has been seen as more important than the two time Copa America winner.

Sanchez's miserable spell at United started with the Red Devils beating rivals Manchester City to his signature but nothing really went well from there.

It seems that his unhappy time in the north west has come to an end. How will Sanchez get on in Italy?
