Alexis Sanchez Doesn't Want To Play Another Game For Arsenal

As the weirdest transfer deadline day in the history of transfer windows closed one couldn't help but think how lucky the likes of Alexis Sanchez are that it's an international break. However when he returns from Chile the Arsenal forward never wants to play for the club again.

Yesterday saw lots of talk about lots of different transfers and they all seemed to be about players that were desperate to leave their club and a total of none of them did. We all waited for Alexis Sanchez, Philippe Coutinho and Virgil van Dijk to get their way, it never happened.

Now we're in the middle of the international period meaning teammates at Arsenal, Liverpool and Southampton respectively don't have to have the awkward conversations with men who openly didn't want to be their teammates anymore.

The lads will now have to wait till at least January for their moves or possibly even next summer, with Sanchez allowed to leave the Emirates for no fee come June 2018.

However even if he lasts till January the former Barcelona winger is fuming about his transfer to Manchester City falling through and according to Goal he's told the club he never wants to play for them again.

Sanchez has been visibly unhappy at the team's performance in the past and Sunday's loss to Liverpool seems to have been the final straw. Image: PA

Goal do say it's unlikely that he will follow through on his threat and will play again when the international period is over but things will have to be a little uneasy in the Arsenal camp.

Sanchez looked set for a £60 million move to join Pep Guardiola at the Etihad with Arsenal apparently having a £92 million bid for Thomas Lemar accepted before the Gunners backed out of the move.

It did seem mad that Sanchez waited till the last week of the window to put in his transfer request whilst City waited until the last day for a player that Guardiola was clearly desperate to sign.

One thing is for certain, Sanchez won't start the 2018/19 season as an Arsenal player.
