AC Milan At It Again With €40 million Bid

It's been an incredible summer of transfers for Milan and they could be about to bring in one of Europe's biggest talents.

AC Milan have almost single handedly kept us in business this summer. In between stories about Lukaku, Neymar, Sanchez, Mbappe and Morata there is gaps filled by Milan transfers and they're at it again.

After years of being in the doldrums and having some rubbish spending transfer windows under former owner Silvio Berlusconi, AC Milan have dragged themselves back into the big time under their new Chinese owners.

The Rossoneri have been unleashed on the transfer window like a teenager having his first go on Football Manager with PSG. Leonardo Bonucci is one of the best signings of the summer and they've also brought in the likes of Adrien Silva, Hakan Calhanoglu and Lucas Biglia.

But it looks like it's about to get even better for Vincenzo Montella's side. They have been linked with moves for the likes of Diego Costa and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but the next man through the San Siro gates will be another midfielder.

According to L'Equipe the club have offered €40 million to Bayern Munich for Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches, who only joined the Allianz Arena last summer. The fee is thought to be enough to take him to Italy.

The 19 year-old recently talked about his frustration at Bayern and the prospect of moving to the San Siro saying, "Personally I'm not happy with my first year here because I'm young and I would like to be playing more, so I would be glad to go to a club who can give me the possibility to play.

"Milan is an interesting option and if the opportunity were to arise, I would like it. I think that I would have more chance of playing in Milan than in Munich."

Before he moved from Benfica to Bayern, Sanches was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford with scouts at Manchester United watching him several times before the Bundesliga champions nipped in with a bid.

It's unlikely that United would make a move for Sanches now as they need a defensive central midfielder rather than a playmaker like the teenager and he's unlikely to get the first team football he needs.

Milan though go marching on.
