Both AC Milan and Inter Milan picked up three points on the opening weekend of the 2017/18 Serie A campaign, with the clubs continuing to draft in new talent with deadline day approaching.

AC Milan have used the summer window for a complete overhaul. The club have snapped up a host of new signings with the likes of Andre Silva, Leonard Bonucci and Hakan Calhanoglu, among others, heading to the Rosonerri's.

While their rivals have also recruited heavily during the window. From the aptly named Milan Skriniar to Borja Valero, to name but a few.

But with both clubs securing impressive permanent signings, the pair of fallen European giants have sealed a loan signing each.

Nikola Kalinic joins the AC Milan revolution having signed a initial loan deal but with an 'obligation to buy' at the end of the season.

The striker notably enjoyed a two year spell in the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers before joining Dnipro.

Following a successful stint in Ukraine, Fiorentina came knocking and signed the player. After scoring 27 top flight goals, he now switches across Italy by signing a deal for AC Milan.

Meanwhile, Valencia defender Joao Cancelo is the latest player to head to Inter Milan as he, like Kalinic, signs a loan deal.

Inter Milan have an option to sign the Portuguese right-back on a permanent at the end of the season.

It's reported that the 23-year-old was attracting interest from Chelsea and Spurs as both clubs remain in the market for defensive reinforcement.

Cancelo rose to prominence in his native Portugal before Valencia signed him in 2014.

Though he ends his association with the Mestalla club after three seasons as he swaps the La Liga for the Serie A.
