Real Madrid wonderkid Martin Odegaard was subject to plenty of interest and he's now completed a loan move to Dutch side Heerenveen.

Per Marca, the 18-year-old will now ply his trade in the Eredivisie until the end of next season, and the club are set to unveil him in an official presentation later today.

It was speculated that a move to Ligue 1 side Rennes was on the cards before their manager Christian Gourcuff had a last minute change of heart, pulling the plug on a potential deal.

The budding youngster rose to prominence in Norway before sealing a move to European giants Real Madrid subsequently becoming the youngest ever player to play for the 'Los Blancos'.

Odegaard was just aged 16-years and 157 days (!!) but has since failed to nail down a spot in 'Zizou's' plans hence the loan move.

His only appearance for the senior side was a run out in the Copa del Rey as Odegaard played the full-game helping his side smash Spanish minnows Cultural Leonesa 6-1.

His parent club will be hoping Odegaard can continue developing as a player as he gains first-team football. Heerenveen are currently fourth in the league, four points off the big three.

How will the footballing prodigy fare in Holland?
