A list of the top ten most valuable teams in the world has been revealed and there are a number of shock omissions.

The figures come from Transfer Markt and are a total sum of all the players at the club.

It comes as no surprise that Manchester City top the list with a squad value of €1.28 billion.

The form of Raheem Sterling has seen his transfer value skyrocket to €126 million and stars such as Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero are some of the best in the world.

Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona unsurprisingly sit in second and third.

They both splashed the cash in the summer with big transfers for Eden Hazard and Antoine Griezmann respectively.

Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain round out the top five.

It shows how strong Jurgen Klopp's men have been in the last year.

Their squad is more valuable than a PSG side which contains world record transfer Neymar as well as Kylian Mbappe.

Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Chelsea finish the top ten.

Spurs have commodities such as Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane in their ranks who both near the €100 million mark.

Atletico are perhaps a shock inclusion considering the departures of Griezmann and Diego Godin this summer.

But Jan Oblak and teenage sensation Joao Felix clock in at a value of €90 million each to add to the plethora of other talent at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Manchester United miss out despite the amount of money that has been invested into 'The Red Devils' in the last few years.

United have spent nearly £1 billion since they last won the Premier League in 2013.

Big money signings such as Angel Di Maria and Romelu Lukaku haven't stuck around for long at Old Trafford.

United also broke the world transfer record for Paul Pogba in 2016 for £89 million while breaking the record fee for a defender when they signed Harry Maguire for £80 million in the summer.

It will be alarming to the United hierarchy that their investment isn't putting them higher in the Premier League table as well as the value table.
