The Terrifying Moment Stand Collapses As Vitesse Fans Celebrate Win With Players

Vitesse fans were bouncing up and down after beating NEC when the stand collapsed.

Scary scenes occurred in the Eredivisie this afternoon when a stand holding Vitesse fans collapsed.

The Arnhem outfit beat NEC 1-0 away, with Nikolai Baden Frederiksen scoring the only goal of the game in the first half.

After the game, the Vitesse players went over to celebrate the victory with the travelling supporters at the Stadion Galfort.

But as they were all bouncing up and down in unison, the stand suddenly gave way in an utterly terrifying moment.

Many fans at the front fell downwards, with the players looking concerned.

Still, the supporters did continue their post-match celebrations and wouldn't let the buckling of a stand ruin the scenes.

Fortunately nobody was injured but Hubert Bruls, the mayor of Nijmegen, Hubert Bruls, has demanded an investigation be launched.

"I am very shocked by what happened,” Bruls said as per, De Telegraaf.

“Fortunately, as far as is known, no one was injured. I want an investigation into what happened here as soon as possible.”

Vitesse moved up to sixth with the narrow away win and now turn their attentions to a Europa Conference League game against Spurs on Thursday.

They have one win and one defeat from their two games in Group G so far.
