Robbie Keane's final international appearance proved to be an emotional night but couldn't have ended any better.

The Republic of Ireland legend called time on his remarkable 18-year-long international career last week as he pulled on the famous green jersey for one last time yesterday evening.

The Aviva Stadium played host to the 36-year-old's 146th and final cap in a friendly against Oman where he bagged a goal en route to a comfortable 4-0 victory.

The potent frontman retires with an incredible 68 goals to his name equaling Germany's Gerd Muller's record, not to mention his involvement in three major tournaments (2002 World Cup & Euro 2012 and 2016) while gaining a spot in the all-time international goalscorers, sitting in 15th.

The former Premier League star will continue to play club football in the States for LA Galaxy.

What an international career, 'Keano'.
