Arsenal are currently playing their first pre-season friendly ahead of the forthcoming 2017/18 campaign, and it was an unlikely candidate who opened the scoring with a goal that you wouldn't normally expect from him.
Club captain Per Mertesacker, who will become the Arsenal Under 18 academy boss once he hangs up his boots at the end of the season, struck with an instinctive finish from a corner four minutes into the game against Sydney FC.
It's not quite an overhead kick but it's a bloody lovely goal from the BFG. Check it out here:

Arsenal fans will be hoping to get a glimpse of record signing Alexandre Lacazette in the second half. The former Lyon man started on the bench for the first game of pre-season.
