TAKE A BOW.

England's Under 17 charges are looking utterly brilliant again, and were 3-0 up and cruising against Mexico in their second group game in the World Cup in India.

Steve Cooper's side swept aside Chile by a scoreline of 4-0 in their opening game, and there was a period where they were completely bossing it today.

Goals from Rhian Brewster, Phil Foden, Jadon Sancho did the business for the young Three Lions - with the first two goals absolute stunners.

To take the lead, Liverpool starlet Brewster, who had missed a sitter not long before, bagged a belter of a free-kick. He curled the ball into the top corner in exquisite fashion and becomes the second player to score a free-kick for England in the tournament, following on from Angel Gomes' heroics in the last game.

Then minutes after the interval, Foden, the 17-year old prodigy who shone in Manchester City's pre-season and has been on the bench this season, got in on the act by supplying a wonderful emphatic finish after a flowing move that his former club teammate Sancho instigated.

Sancho, who left City to move to Borussia Dortmund in the summer, added a third from the spot, but Mexico fought back, with Diego Lainez scoring two goals in quick succession to reduce the deficit to just one.

England held on though, and now have two wins out of two in Group F. The current Under 17's crop is brimming with talent which we really, really hope is afforded opportunities in the near future and have the chance to realise their full potential.

They've played some glorious stuff in the tournament thus far, and them being able to follow in the footsteps of the Under 20 side, who won the World Cup for their age group in the summer, would make for two wholly brilliant successes for England at youth level.
