Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are making a point of getting their transfer business wrapped up nice and early.

On Friday, City confirmed the signing of Monaco's much sought after playmaker, Bernardo Silva.

And the two- time Premier League champions are not stopping there.

Only an official announcement is waiting in regards to the capture of Benfica goalkeeper Ederson.

The Brazilian was spotted at the club's City Football Academy training complex on Monday, and both the player himself and Benfica have confirmed his next destination.

Ederson is set to join for a fee of £34.9 million, which will be a British record fee for a goalkeeper.

Pep Guardiola made signing a new goalkeeper a priority in this window, after not seeing Joe Hart as part of his plans, and deciding not to offer Willy Caballero a new deal.

It appears as though despite his struggles last season, Claudio Bravo will be retained for another season.

But one would think that Ederson will be Pep's choice for the No.1 berth next season, and a clip of him in action may just get City fans excited.

A couple of weeks back, Benfica clinched the Portuguese Primeira Liga title with a thumping 5-0 win and the third goal, scored by Raul Jimenez, is a passage of play that City supporters will be hoping is replicated next season.

Ederson showed off just how handy he is with his feet, a pivotal trait for Guardiola's goalkeepers - by producing this incredible assist from a goal kick:

Of course his shot-stopping abilities are of key importance, but goalkeepers being comfortable on the ball is absolutely everything. And in the above clip, Ederson demonstrates intelligence in knowing that his striker cannot be offside from a goal kick, as well having the technical quality to able to directly set up a goal with a long, but accurate kick.

With the frightening pace of the likes of Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero next season, Ederson could well have a field day in constructing attacks from his own box.

He's not too shabby when it comes to his actual goalkeeping duties as well, it seems:

Has Pep Guardiola found the perfect goalkeeper for his way of playing at City?
