There was a huge gulf in class between New Zealand and Portugal at Stadion Krestovsky in today's Confederations Cup Group A clash.

The European Champions romped to a 4-0 win over the Kiwis, with goals coming from skipper Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva, Andre Silva and substitute Nani.

Few can deny that the two very best goals of the game went to the two Silvas. The first, scored by Manchester City new boy Bernardo, was a flowing team move finished off by the former Monaco and Benfica man, before his namesake Andre got on the scoresheet by scoring a wonderful solo goal.

Given an extra bit of freedom once Cristiano Ronaldo was substituted and saved for Portugal's knockout clash, Silva collected the ball from Ricardo Quaresma, who seized possession inside his own half.

Then Silva, who should probably have been sent off earlier in the game for throwing a punch in the direction of a New Zealand defender, did the rest.

The 21-year old's speed, power and composure to was too much for the New Zealand defence as he darted into the box, before finishing emphatically in the roof of the net.

Here's how Twitter reacted to the piece of brilliance from Silva:

AC Milan fans have every right to be excited about their big-money signing and what he could potentially produce next season.
