Football is a place of competition and tribalism and can be a harsh place to be sometimes. That makes it easy to forget the lovely, human stories that often exist in the sport. Like Genoa's assistant manager being in tears on the bench.

At the weekend it's fair to say that we can all get a little bit carried away with how our team are doing and a certain result can make or break our weekend- just ask a Watford or Everton fan how their weekend was and await the answer.

But equally the footballing community can be an endearing and heartwarming place where people care about each other. Former Burnley centre back Clarke Carlisle's worrying disappearance last week had many worried and retweeting to try and make sure he was found, which fortunately he eventually was.

The feel good story of the weekend was in Serie A where Genoa assistant manager Marco Pellegri was seen crying in the dugout as his team lost 3-2 to Lazio, to compound a poor start to the season.

But he was welling up at the loss but because his 17 year old son Pietro Pellegri bagged the two goals for Genoa and he was just a proud dad watching on:

The youngster became Serie A's youngest ever player in 2016 aged just 15 and then became the league's youngest ever goalscorer back in May when he scored in the club's 3-2 loss to Roma, a recurring theme against clubs from the capital.

After the match manager Ivan Jurcic said, "We're working a lot with Pellegri. He played like a real centre-forward tonight. It's a great story, his father is my very close friend and now his son is doing so well in this team."

Genoa drew their opening game of the season with Sassuolo but have since lost to Juventus, Udinese and now Lazio. It's been a difficult start but with their young goalscorer they could turn thing around.

And if not at least he knows his dad is very proud- football can be wonderful sometimes.
