The fly on the wall documentary of their Championship relegation season was captured in the first series and was utterly brilliant.

Netflix brilliant 'Sunderland Till I Die' will return for a second series released and be released on April 1st, something they promise isn't on purpose.

The first series of 'Sunderland Till I Die' was well received by football fans and showed the club's tumultuous 2017/18 season, where they were relegated from the Championship.

Now the second season is coming and promises to be just as exciting with The Black Cats failing to gain promotion back to the second tier and losing twice at Wembley in the season and its release date isn't an April Fool's.

Football fans won't be able to contain their excitement for the new season and they're not the only ones with Charlton Athletic clearly looking forward to it.

The Addicks were the ones who beat Sunderland for the second time in at the national football stadium in the League One play-off final, scoring an injury time winner after falling behind in just the fifth minute.

As per the Sunderland Echo this series is shorter than the first, being just six episodes instead of the previous eight, and the fourth episode will focus on the club's Checkatrade Trophy run.

Gone are the previous owners, who left at the end of the first series, including chief executive Martin Bain, who was a highlight of the documentary, and in comes new owner Stewart Donald and his task of rebuilding the club following back-to-back relegations.

The Echo also claim 'new owners Donald and Charlie Methven reportedly offered the Netflix cameras in-depth access to off-field matters,' meaning we may get to see even more of what happens behind the scenes.
