Edinson Cavani Shows Off His Physique Ahead Of Manchester United Debut

The former PSG striker wasn't most fans first choice signing this summer but some are changing their opinion on him already.

Edinson Cavani has shown that he's certainly not past his physical best despite being 33-years-old and it's got Manchester United fans excited.

It's not exactly breaking news to say Cavani wasn't United's number one target this summer and when he arrived on transfer deadline day it wasn't the signing most people were hoping for.

Having missed time injured in the last two seasons, not played since March, being available for free since around June and being 33, it screamed of a panci buy from Ed Woodward to appease fans and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Despite an initial bad reaction, fans might now be coming round to the idea after the former PSG striker struck a pose on his Instagram story, showing off his physique, alongside the caption 'we continue,' as he steps up his work to be fit for the team.

One fan replied saying, "Oh my word, the Premier League is actually not ready," and another added, "My man is already fitter than all of the United squad," a third said, "Told you, body of 23 year old never mind 33," and a fourth joked, "Cavani has more abs than United points in the league."

Unfortunately for the fans getting excited they won't be able to see their new signing next weekend against Newcastle United.

The Uruguayan left PSG in the summer when he was out of contract which means he's not been in a 'football bubble,' with regular Covid-19 testing, so, like anyone travelling abroad, he's had to self isolate for 14 days.

At least the former Napoli striker is using his time well and has been doing lots of exercise to be ready to play PSG in the Champions League a week on Tuesday.

Obviously fans will still be gutted that the club failed to sign Jadon Sancho, and understandably so after a terrible and 'embarrassing' pursuit of the Borussia Dortmund forward, and Cavani isn't exactly a long term solution, but he could yet surprise them.

However that's not the thinking of a group of football agents, who actually voted PSG's all time top scorer as the worst signing of the summer.
